Book Overview
On Spiritual Development
You cannot develop spiritually by doing anything in a contrived way, but you can develop by living with the genuine and instinctual responses to your daily life that stem from your desired state of being. Observance of such behavior is the origin of the religious view of being “watched” by God. The difference is that God is not judging you, but being there, through you, as the impartial Observer.
On the Ego
You continue to want to cling to your individuality and specialness…your ego cries out that it needs to survive and has been forsaken by everyone, everything, including God... until you see that nothing is real your task is only to relinquish your specialness. And all the while your ego will do all it can to stop you. Until you fully accept that, you will not understand.
On Time
Time does not exist. There is only now... time is required in the worldly experience for you to make sense of progress and cause and effect. Time as you think of it exists only as a construct of your world and perceptions. It is as changeable as any other element of which you can think...[You can] engage in life in a new way because you now know that the point of life is non-linear creativity, not linear (time bound) activity.
God’s Creation
Think of God’s creation [“omniverse” is a better description of what was being referred to here] as a mesh of potentialities. There are an infinite number of them yet you are humanly aware of only one of them at a time – in your case the one your Soul has chosen for you to see and experience. Simultaneously then, there are many other potentialities or “what ifs” in the mesh, all of which can occur, and all of which your Soul can choose to experience.
On Good and Bad
The human conditions of good or bad are highly variable and even interchangeable. And if that is true, then good and bad do not exist as true constants, only temporary judgments. As the saying goes, the only constant is change – or more accurately, the only constant is creation. And as we told you earlier, God is all about Creation and here in your human world that means cycles of life and death, building and decay, growth and decline. What you define as good and bad are simply opposites - like up and down, left and right. They depend on perspective... They are temporary, variable and totally subjective judgments of the essential polarities of Creation.
On Truth
It is said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So is truth. It exists only at the personal level [even if shared by more than one person]. For example, I hear in songs (and observe) things which have meaning for me - or more precisely, at this point they are a truth for me. And my truths have changed and will probably change again…You cannot know the truth, be given it, buy it, learn it or make it. You cannot describe it or write it. You can only experience and feel it. And only the truth is peace.
On Faith
I am talking about a leap of faith not from one belief system to another, but from one belief system (i.e. your view of the world based on your belief system at that moment) to non-belief; To an open mind no longer building its interpretation and expectations of the world based on any one belief system, but a mind of acceptance and observation of what is. Accepting what one feels as much as understands.
